  • <p>I feel it is always best to keep the disruption to the household to a minimum so i make access through to the loft from the scaffold. All the materials and trades people involved in the first stages of the job don’t go through the house.</p>
  • <p>The new floor joists go in.</p>
  • <p>The first dormer roof timbers start to be erected.</p>
  • <p>Side dormer with en-suite roof window opening.</p>
  • <p>The new roof is built over the top of the existing one.</p>
  • <p>The access door has now been moved to the dormer wall .</p>
  • <p>Detail in the barge board timbers to match the 1930’s original front gable.</p>
  • <p>Side dormer internal split , one side will house the en-suite , the other the stairs.</p>
  • <p>Lead flashing detail matching house original.</p>
  • <p>Open rafter detail as existing . Good tiles re-used on front elevation so the new roof blends in as much as possible.</p>
  • <p>The roof at the back was turned into a gable end creating more room inside the roof space.</p>
  • <p>Old hip roof removed and the new rafters are going in.</p>
  • <p>The new gable end with window.</p>
  • <p>Diving for cover when the heavens opened ! .</p>
  • <p>Foil backed insulation being fitted.</p>
  • <p>Side Dormer roof complete with mock Tudor timbers matching the existing front gable.</p>
  • <p>Ready for some stairs.</p>
  • <p>En-suite tiled.</p>
